This one made me lean forward in my seat to get a better look. It's very polished . . . crisp!

I'm not sure if that was the effect you were going for, though. =)

It's funny the different demands a subject will make. It wasn't premeditated, but as the drawing came together, the "laws" became apparent and from there it was a sought-after effect.

Really wishing the photo wasn't blurred. One of your best forest scenes I think.

Thanks Christopher. I was thinking while I drew this that it was one of the better forest ones.

The old camera I use always tends to blur one side of the picture and focus the other. Sometimes I get tired of taking shot after shot, and they all turn out not very good, so I just put up the best of the lot.

I wish I had a scanner.

Hmmm... if it isn't an actual defect in the camera, the capture might be better with a tighter zoom from further away. I don't suppose you've got diaphragm control? (I can't even manually focus my camera. I wonder if that's why don't use it much... )

Yes, I do try that, a tighter zoom from farther away, which does typically get all the details focused. But I also try to get as much of the frame filled with drawing as I can. No, it doesn't have diaphragm control. It's an old cheap digital camera, the like of which is probably exceeded by the cameras on cell phones.
