After the sketches of nature, crops and chessmen, this one seems disconcertingly pretty. I'm not sure what to think.

I hated drawing this teapot. I kept thinking of Angela Lansbury's character in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. It was: okay, let's just get this done, quickly.

And to think that I was worried that you really liked this teapot and I might end up insulting you . . . =P

But now I'm curious about why you chose it as a subject. It doesn't really fit in with the rest of your portfolio, so there must be another story behind it.

It was night, so going outside to draw was out of the question. So I had to find something inside to draw and I was getting desperate. "Not more apples", I said to myself, and really, I just couldn't seem to settle on anything. So I went to the cabinet and just pulled the teapot out, like a man confused, not really knowing what he's doing.

That is a nice teapot you have!
Reading the comments made me sad for the poor teapot... I hope she knows she is loved :)
