I go by high abv. Haha - actually - I love Trappist Quad - makes me feel holy.

Failing that - Boiler Makers - scotch and beer.

I watched "The Revenant" yesterday evening!
"The Revenant has the same stuck on the surface of the merely physically visual plane shallowness" This is so true!! You are eloquent!

Why, thank you! The film was awfully nihilistic as well, wasn't it? It's violence especially towards the end was...off. And then the filmmaker seemed to be just trying to drum up something significant from it - but there was nothing.

Terry, I made it sound like the beer I put back in the fridge was a Trappist beer - it wasn't. They actually make really good stuff, not oppressively heavy stuff. I agree. But still more for special or occasional occasions, if only because of the price.

I like my scotch. I've never tried putting the scotch in the beer. Maybe one day.

Yes!
And it is so dull this way of promoting the "god of everywhere" and the "worship of anything"...

Have you tried scotch with coffee (I am assuming yes!)?

Completely agree - actually what you wrote there gets to the heart of what I didn't like about the film.

I'm ashamed to say I have not tried scotch with coffee. I love them both separately and know I would never try it, no matter how much I might say I would, unless someone either made it for me or, say, was visiting and prompted me to. First butterscotch and now scotch - in coffee. I must really be missing out! :)

I didn't like also that the main character was so strong and resilient (sort of the point of the film haha!) but it just so much self worship and admiration!- I promise I will stop shaming the film now ^^

I have to admit that I haven't tried it either (and neither with butterscotch!) I asked out of curiosity because I knew you liked both... (sorry!)
One day I'll host a "Try me with your Coffee" party and I'll invite you ^^

I found it unbelievable that he survived everything. I'm pretty sure the story its based on there was warm weather.

So you can get me to drink some at your party - that way I'll drink it for sure. I'll bring the scotch!
