Oh, see the chunks taken out of the stump? Those are from the olden days when the lumberjacks would cut out big notches in the side of the great tree. They would put a plank into the notches so they could stand on it - a man on each side. This way they would work the saw between each other to fell the tree!

There's something about this that anticipates Halloween.

Having read your comment, I suspect that it's the ghosts of the lumberjacks I see.
