My favourite is:
News would be more local.
Global news has the effect of impinging on peoples' lives as they are lived, and not broadening one's horizons, but closing people in. That's what I think.
Since we're playing favourites,
The words “hurry” and “fast” would be not be uttered in polite society. “Plenty of time” would take their place. The rat race would not survive.
