Jury Duty

I have been officially "summoned".

An intimidating word.

I wonder, will it be like 12 Angry Men?

Because that movie was super realistic.

What a great movie. I think I was 15 when I saw that and the Hustler on the same day. I remember thinking "Wow... I didn't know they could make movies like that." For a period of years afterwards, I watched almost exclusively movies made only prior to 1963.

I'd love to tell you my secret to getting out of jury but I'm afraid everyone will start using it.

Paul,

Just remember: if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.

This is so exciting! I wonder who will play you when they make the movie??? And whether they will write your blog into the plot . . .

Christopher, you must tell me the secret! Please! I will destroy the message as soon as I read it! My lips are sealed!

BTW: my thoughts were *exactly* as yours when I first watched the film (though I haven't yet seen The Hustler). Once one gets into the consistent quality of those earlier films, it's kind of strange going back to the later ones.

Bryan, I am going to keep it in mind. It is all I need to know, and any further than that, my mind need not worry itself. Besides, anyone who does is just a racist.

Enbrethiliel, my mind just did a quadruple backflip reading your comment. Now I really want out of this jury duty. Christopher! Help!

Oh yeah, E: I insist that it be Benicio Del Toro. ;) Unless you have someone better to suggest. I know we don't look alike, but I like the guy's acting, in spite of his El Che B.S.
