Seriously, Stilwell, I like the way you've captured the essence of waiting. Mailboxes exist to be filled, but they must also wait for someone to come along and fill them.
I didn't know they were talking to each other. But now whenever I look at it I can't see it any other way.
I've wondered why I'm attracted to drawing/painting mailboxes - and in particular bashed up mailboxes. A number of metaphorical reasons have come to mind, but "waiting" - I think you really nailed it.
