I love the way these pumpkins are so big that both of them can't fit onto the paper.

(But look at that chair trying to sneak into the picture although it knows it's completely upstaged!)

Not only their size but their personality - so unassailable - made me think when I started drawing them, "Oh screw it, I'm not even going to bother trying."

They are very full of personality! Not smug like some of your apples, but certainly pleased with themselves.

(I read somewhere that pumpkins are actually berries. Is that true?)

Captcha is "shalomp"--which is the kind of peace you get from pumpkins.

Pumpkins know they're 90% water. Apples on the other hand can be charming even when they start to go bad. They can't help being smug.

There's no way in middle earth that a pumpkin is a berry. Even if some botanical expert said, yes, they are berries, I would tell him he's talking horse pie. Linguistically one can call it a fruit, but a berry - I refuse to recognize it.

Shalomp is exactly the peace that pumpkins speak - that and maybe those oompa loompa creatures.
