It never ceases to amaze me how the scenario or mood or what-have-you at the time of drawing/painting comes through the image so immediately. I was all very "let's get down and focus here and observe what's before me" when I started, clearing off a book and some photos that were sitting nearby on the desk top, even though they were out of the picture zone, because I didn't want their "influence".
