  1. The rightmost stem makes its pear look like a masquerading candle. But I like them all.

The two upright pears are #bullying the poor, supine pear!

(The hashtag is not a typo, by the way. I was trying to be ironic and wondering whether I've succeeded.)

  3. Bat, certainly we can at least call the stem a wick then, like we do with apples.

Enbrethiliel, dang, the irony is lost on me. :( Now you have to explain it.

  4. Well then the two standing pears are not bullies.

It's just that October is National Anti-Bullying Month in the US. (You Canadians are in stitches right now, aren't you?) Now, I'm anti-bullying in what you might call the classic sense, but the mass hysteria over bullying these days is leaving me cold. I use the hashtag when I want to make a distinction between real bullying and faddish bullying.

In any case, it's good to know that your pears are not bullies, faddish or otherwise.
