Where does Jesus say people have to go and confess their sins to have them forgiven? He spoke the above words instead. There are the other references to the apostles bidden to bind and loose.
When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." --John 20:22-23
How do these apostles forgive anybody's sins when they do not know what the sins are that they are forgiving, or for that matter, to which they are withholding forgiveness? Jesus gives them not the power of extending some kind of blanket-forgiveness, overriding their wills, but, in complete trust, also of withholding that forgiveness. On what grounds are they to withhold? Well, if the person seeking the obliteration of his or her sins is not truly sincere and repentant. How does the apostle know this without hearing what the sins are? Again, say the person is truly repentant. How can the apostle, a human being who gains knowledge through his senses, forgive that person without knowing what exactly the forgiveness is being applied to?
The fact of having to confess your sins is so self-evident and implied. Jesus did not, and does not, stand on His dignity. He instituted. He does not explain the concessions of what He instituted. What He instituted unfolds and explains itself.

It is second in line, and depends upon unseen
Spirit, for while both may be present between,
There is one alone, and one which will full
Elicit, with or without bond of blood,
Residing fondness, comporting our paired insignia.
It's quite funny. The sitemeter shows that at least seven different people from different countries around the world have ended up at this blog when searching for the words: "acrostic sister poem", or a variation thereon. They inevitably land at this post.
My speculation is that certain people the world over are searching for an acrostic poem for their sister, an acrostic poem on the word, 'sister'. They then go to my post, and to their disappointment, discover that the acrostic poem is on 'pumpkin scones'. The poem was dedicated to one of my sisters, pumpkin scone expert. The poem's title included the dedication.
The meter shows they spend zero time reading the poem. Because well, this blog with its pumpkin scone poem, is delaying their search for an acrostic poem on the word, 'sister'. Impatient little buggers.
So, I figured I would write an acrostic poem on the word, 'sister'. Yes, to you, searcher for an acrostic poem on the word, 'sister', look no further. You can use it if you want, to give to your sister. You do not have to credit it to me, but, and I emphasize but, if dare credit it to yourself, I will come to haunt you in your dreams you lying scum.
With that little caveat in mind, do feel free to use it, good and honest person. Here it is:
Sibling of spirit; whether familial blood pertain too,
It is second in line, and depends upon unseen
Spirit, for while both may be present between,
There is one alone, and one which will full
Elicit, with or without bond of blood,
Residing fondness, comporting our paired insignia.
If that is too metaphysical for your tastes, and you are looking for something more gooey, then be off with you!

Of course, this was not a huge epiphany for me, as my thoughts had been precisely the same, and still are. But forgetfulness is part of our life. Combined with the ceaseless silent motion of time (which has the property of not just eradicating things, but of distilling them into their true form and adding them up into the present), our subjective rationalizing of circumstances takes on perverse proportions. But then a geyser or two spews into the open the underlying filth of our society, in the said distilled form that tends to shock or cause some kind of visceral reaction - or, maybe nothing. 32 students being gunned down by another student is a geyser (I hate to say 'a mild one' in relation to what may yet hit us). 345 being arrested by the FBI in a five-day round-up of pimps who force children into prostitution is another. (And again, my feeling is this is just a tip of the iceberg). And then we go back to our routines. The concern here is not that we simply go back to our routine upon witnessing the vast decay and crime around, but the concern is with the pendulum swing with which we go back to our routine, or our occupations. The louder the shout gets, the more substantially we push cotton into our ears.
Continuity and conscience. The continuity is in seeing the objective history and our place in it; salvific history. The conscience is seeing the objective history's immediate, concrete ramifications in our own personal life, right close to home, and our culpability in it. And forming our conscience, which inevitably takes the shape of standing 'our ground' where it costs something. That may sound all grim, but it is a kind of praying; a prayer of truth. A prayer for truth.
Go into the inner room and shut the door to the world and there speak to your Father who hears and sees the thoughts of the heart, and Whose word pierces bone and marrow. The truth is not a negative, not a mere subtracting of illusions, but it is in itself a positive, a splendourous place where we can abide - though of course, no one who abides there ever looks askance or with a hush-hush at the horrific and the ugly, especially when that ugly truth hits right close to home: inside ourselves.
Is a world with profuse, promoted, legalized abortion a world worth being too comfortable in? When do we bear witness to the perversion that is our accepted rationalization? It starts with one's own conscience.

This is ever the bane of the comedian while he is still alive (ask Steve Martin), being made into the stage image; but to be permanently cemented into the damnable mould at death - and by your so-called followers? That's just sick.
I wish there was some kind of contractual signed agreement between big shiny comedians, that prevented them from saying anything whatsoever about the 'influential' career of the newly deceased. Something tells me, that just maybe, just maybe at the moment of death, George Carlin's career was to him as a miserable curse; a tawdry and infectious rag; something, very probably a gift which he did well with at times (some of his clean quirky observations), and which he made a total freaking mess of as he got progressively...is 'famous' the word?
One says: "[He was] always challenging us to look at ourselves and question our belief systems".
No he wasn't. I'm willing to bet he never did that even once to anybody. What he did do was merely help to confirm the lost and drifting tide of secularized rebrobates in their pursuit of whatever the moment had to give them.
I hope George Carlin returned to the Catholic faith in which he was brought up before he died. If even in secret interior repentance; a cry or moan to Jesus his Saviour. At the moment of death, such 'jokes' as the following simply a get an all too real and straight answer:
"How come when it's us, it's 'an abortion,' but when it's a chicken, it's an omelet?"It is because one is an embryonic chicken, and one is an embryonic human person.
And for the human person, 'embryonic' pertains to a few meagre weeks (in which the person's entire genetic structure, that is, everything to do biologically with that person's being, is already incarnate), after which stage, the abortionist has to dismember instead of vacuum.

Giuliano Tolusso is a Senior Policy Analyst with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. He admitted that his department hasn't talked to farmers. "We haven't necessarily actively consulted farmers," Tolusso told the Ottawa Citizen. But, he said, we should go ahead with terminator anyway because "There's always a risk with any technology. The brakes on your car are not 100 per cent effective either. They can rail."
Quote from this article. An older article, but the concern and danger is still there.
What lovely language though. We haven't necessarily actively consulted farmers. Uhm, we haven't consulted farmers. You have to wonder if you have the right policy analyst for agriculture when the analyst makes the comparison of using suicide seeds with car brakes. Yes, the brakes on the car are not 100 percent effective either. But then again, when your car crashes, it doesn't set off an unfathomable and seemingly endless chain reaction of car crashes everywhere.

...As a printer churned out a license with spaces for "Party A" and "Party B" where "bride" and "groom" used to be, Newsom called officiating the wedding "this extraordinary and humbling gift."" --Yahoo News
So, the "marriage" licenses have for the name spaces, in place of Bride and Groom, "Party A" and "Party B".
Isn't that what it's all about? After all this time, we finally see how simply unifying it is. How could we be so abrasive all this time over such beautiful peaceful civil unions? And that's all they have wanted. After all those years of "being denied this right, this civil right", a gay couple can finally, finally, be recognized as Party A and Party B. At least in California. And other places certainly. In the future, if we hold out, gay couples will be recognized as such in every state. We must give the Humble Obama the chance.
I did not know that a person was a Party. Then again, I did not know that marriage was something like a political party's preamble, to be added to and adjusted as seen fit. But apparently it is all of it, one big party. How can you be such a rigid religious turd? Celebrate good times, c'mon. Words and definitions are meant to be free man, free.
Was there more than two people being recognized in the same "union", you might ask. That's a good question, because the licenses do say "Party A" and "Party B". Apparently William Shakespeare did not bother to think that the Montagues and Capulets could have easily ended their feud by legal civil union. Well, that's open to debate I'm sure, you know, about the "Party" thing. "Open to debate" means: stop being divisive you rigid religious turd; if a woman and another woman want to bring their pet dog into the relationship, who are you to say anything? Hm? Who are you to bring your God into this? After all, Jesus said, "Whoever among you is without sin, cast the first stone."
These couples know lots about Jesus. He was compassionate you know, just like Mayor Gavin Newsom. He doesn’t hold inquisitions in his mayor's office, no sir. Because of Mr. Newsom, now any couple can go to an official office in California and have their union sodomized--er, I mean solemnized. "I hereby take thee, Party A, to be my Party A, until death do us party. By the power invested in me as official party, I pronounce thee Party A and Party B. Party A, you may now kiss the Party B. Or Party B, you may make the move instead. Or you can both just kind of meet in the middle."

Some notes on the second conference (I won't bore you with the full day's notes):
Lectio Divina is, if I remember Father correctly, a form of very simple prayer that was used of old monastically, but then became disused until being taken up with interest by laity. It is a "four step" way, or four vital modes, the first three, ceasing in the fourth; the fourth being contemplation; resting in God; simply being; delighting in His word and presence.
Please note, the Bible quotations after each of the four headings are there simply to introduce the person to some of the feeling and basis of Lectio Divina. Meaning, when the first step talks about reading scripture, it is not referring to the quotation, but some scripture passage of your own choosing.
The first is: Lectio - Reading/Listening:
"11 God said, "Go out and stand on the mountain before the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then there came a voice to him that said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"" (1 Kings 19:11-13 NRSV)
You take scripture and are to choose words or phrases that strike you - or that God chooses for you, which may be the same thing. You are not choosing randomly, but you are reading until a word or phrase calls your attention. You are reading and listening to the still small voice of God in silence, which will tell you, or let you know, or grab your attention with, some phrase or word. There must therefore be silence. Exterior silence, yes; interior silence, even more important. You are not speed-reading. You are reading attentively, gently, listening for the phrase that God has for you this day: the passage you may be reading. You must not set a goal as to how much you are going to read. You must be physically quiet and restful, you must be physically prepared. Remind yourself that you are in God's presence. So, read slowly while listening for that word or phrase that calls your attention.
When you find that word or phrase - stop. Do not continue to read further. Stop. You are now on the second step: Meditatio - Meditation:
"18…all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart." (Luke 2:18-19 NRSV)
This phrase or word you have stopped at: memorize it. Repeat it, again and again. Allow this phrase to mingle with your thoughts, worries, memories etc. As the plough cuts into the earth and turns up the earth so that the earth underneath is exposed to the light, so it should be. Or as the soil absorbs the rain. Let it get mixed up with all your thoughts, desires and memories. Delight in this word.
Oratio - Prayer:
"1 Do not fret because of the wicked; do not be envious of wrongdoers, 2 for they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. 4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. 6 He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday." (Psalms 37:1-6 NRSV)
This third step is your responding to God after the meditation. You are entering into loving dialogue; giving of self to God. We allow ourselves to be healed by God as we enter into dialogue. The phrase or word of your meditation is God's word for you at this moment: so enter into dialogue with God, offering to God what you have gained from your meditation, no matter how small. Offer God this transformation. Consecrate yourself to God.
Contemplatio - Contemplation:
"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (Psalms 37:4 AV)
"Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him… (Psalms 37:7 AV)
"…the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him!" (Habakkuk 2:20 NRSV)
Now rest in God. You are simply being in the presence of God. Delight in the presence of the Lord. Wait patiently for Him. You're the temple of the Holy Spirit; let all the worldly stuff be silent. Do not "reactivate" the three steps from before once at this stage: you are resting in God's embrace. Like two lovers in each others company. Like two lovers simply looking into each others eyes. Delight in knowing that God is with you in word and in silence.
The Divine Lectio is great because we know there is the presence of God (in a certain form) in scripture, so you have a "leg-up" already. You want the Divine Lectio to permeate your entire day. Be sure to not be "goal-oriented".
In case you wish to know what phrase I stopped at, using the Lauds booklet outside during private reflection, it was this (the words in bold): "Know that the Lord He is God: He made us, and not we ourselves"
Think about that.

As for this little blog, I feel like posting (inspired by this post) in full, the words for which Rev. Boissoin's inherent, inalienable, natural right to freedom of speech is being violated in this sleeping (though hopefully rousing) country.
So, here they are:
Homosexual Agenda Wicked
The following is not intended for those who are suffering from an unwanted sexual identity crisis. For you, I have understanding, care, compassion and tolerance. I sympathize with you and offer you my love and fellowship. I prayerfully beseech you to seek help, and I assure you that your present enslavement to homosexuality can be remedied. Many outspoken, former homosexuals are free today.
Instead, this is aimed precisely at every individual that in any way supports the homosexual machine that has been mercilessly gaining ground in our society since the 1960s. I cannot pity you any longer and remain inactive. You have caused far too much damage.
My banner has now been raised and war has been declared so as to defend the precious sanctity of our innocent children and youth, that you so eagerly toil, day and night, to consume. With me stand the greatest weapons that you have encountered to date - God and the "Moral Majority." Know this, we will defeat you, then heal the damage that you have caused. Modern society has become dispassionate to the cause of righteousness. Many people are so apathetic and desensitized today that they cannot even accurately define the term "morality."
The masses have dug in and continue to excuse their failure to stand against horrendous atrocities such as the aggressive propagation of homo- and bisexuality. Inexcusable justifications such as, "I'm just not sure where the truth lies," or "If they don't affect me then I don't care what they do," abound from the lips of the quantifiable majority.
Face the facts, it is affecting you. Like it or not, every professing heterosexual is have their future aggressively chopped at the roots.
Edmund Burke's observation that, "All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing," has been confirmed time and time again. From kindergarten class on, our children, your grandchildren are being strategically targeted, psychologically abused and brainwashed by homosexual and pro-homosexual educators.
Our children are being victimized by repugnant and premeditated strategies, aimed at desensitizing and eventually recruiting our young into their camps. Think about it, children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.
Your children are being warped into believing that same-sex families are acceptable; that men kissing men is appropriate.
Your teenagers are being instructed on how to perform so-called safe same gender oral and anal sex and at the same time being told that it is normal, natural and even productive. Will your child be the next victim that tests homosexuality positive?
Come on people, wake up! It's time to stand together and take whatever steps are necessary to reverse the wickedness that our lethargy has authorized to spawn. Where homosexuality flourishes, all manner of wickedness abounds.
Regardless of what you hear, the militant homosexual agenda isn't rooted in protecting homosexuals from "gay bashing." The agenda is clearly about homosexual activists that include, teachers, politicians, lawyers, Supreme Court judges, and God forbid, even so-called ministers, who are all determined to gain complete equality in our nation and even worse, our world.
Don't allow yourself to be deceived any longer. These activists are not morally upright citizens, concerned about the best interests of our society. They are perverse, self-centered and morally deprived individuals who are spreading their psychological disease into every area of our lives. Homosexual rights activists and those that defend them, are just as immoral as the pedophiles, drug dealers and pimps that plague our communities.
The homosexual agenda is not gaining ground because it is morally backed. It is gaining ground simply because you, Mr. and Mrs. Heterosexual, do nothing to stop it. It is only a matter of time before some of these morally bankrupt individuals such as those involved with NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Lovers Association, will achieve their goal to have sexual relations with children and assert that it is a matter of free choice and claim that we are intolerant bigots not to accept it.
If you are reading this and think that this is alarmist, then I simply ask you this: how bad do things have to become before you will get involved? It's time to start taking back what the enemy has taken from you. The safety and future of our children is at stake.

for each and every task: scramble the eggs, stir the bacon, flip
the steaks, waft the cook-smoke, swat the flies, scratch the chef’s back,
keep astir the porridge, the soup of the day, spank the chef’s misbehaving children,
clock the man trying rob the place, whisk the egg sauce, remove a busted tire
from its rim, dislodge whatever the chef’s children flushed down the toilet,
scrape the caked grease off the griddle, fish out the dumplings or fried chicken
from the vat, pretend to conduct a symphony while Mozart plays on the kitchen stereo,
toss around the salad, smooth the icing on a cake, scoop out ice cream,
point decisively and judgmentally at the chef by his wife when
the chef wants to go out with his buddies,
and perhaps someone will write a movie about the history of the wooden spoon
and call it the Red Wooden Spoon: all its ups and downs, how it was snapped
in two one time when the chef heaved it down on the counter edge
upon hearing of his daughter’s secret wedding in Las Vegas, and how the spoon
was mended by a wise old sage whose specialty was healing wooden spoons
and was known in those remote parts as the spoon whisperer,
and said to the chef when the spoon was mended, in stoical tones:
“You gotta decide what you want; go back to your diner and eat all
manner of food, or stay here and eat cactus”.
And how the chef went back to his diner with the great big wooden spoon
and passed it down the generations: an heirloom. A wooden spoon.

I decided the night before that I would spend the day planting the long-stratified seeds, many of which were already sprouted, to my delight. You stratify the seeds in the refrigerator. Many of them have been in there since late last year. Some alas, are still in the refrigerator after this day's planting. With as many seeds as I have going, it is not something you do with a little spare time. You have to make it a day.
But today it was pouring. Wonderful to work in. A little covering from the trees in the backyard, no problem. I noticed among the treasures already growing in the greenhouse, some insect had sawed in half one of the Nordmann Fir sprouts (seed collected from Redwood Park), which still had its seed coat on its head. The stem eaten down to the dirt, and the head decapitated. And on my fingers after handling it, the pungent turpentine smell, just from that wee sprout. I have two other Nordmanns going, so it wasn't totally devastating. The same thing happened to one of the Pawpaw sprouts as well. But have two more of those. Germinating the seeds is one thing; seeing them through the first year of growth, is quite another. Take the Giant Sequoias (seed also from Redwood Park): easy to sprout it seems, but the percentage of die back of sprouts is high. They are perhaps one the most finicky. Unlike say, a certain walnut I have growing (at a height past my knee) which I dug up only last year as a tender little guy, having had his entire crown vanquished by a weed whacker, and only a little leafage newly shooting there from.
If a person were to happen upon the greenhouse and saw, among the other things growing, the dozen or so thin green stems in one corner, that looked like the most meagre onion chives, would they think they were Spanish Bluebells?
The kingdom of heaven is like...
The disciple is not above his Master...
Stewardship, not gardening.

Usually though, no more than two, for they fill
Mine stomach up, and so one has to still
Presumptuous hands, being scony-prone.
Kippers are good with toasty rye
Inlayed with butter, and then some beer.
Naught though at times are my taste, so they steer
Straight for said dainties and darkest night
Coffee: Sugar in both and pumpkin in
One. No mess it makes, except for crumbs;
No worries, there's a plate! See how it works!
Exfoliating scones drop odd pieces thereon;
Stomach takes the rest, while on palette coffee lurks!
"Religion in Canada today is not a particularly divisive subject and tolerance levels for different beliefs are high. This is evident in the fact that one in four people feel comfortable saying they do not believe in a god."
Aside from the first sentence being the summation of one who must be totally deluded and living in a fantasy world, these are words as total vacuum, which yet have a score of conflated presuppositions that are foisted on the reader, and which are the real content of the statement.
The foisted presuppositions are these:
Religion is to be nothing more than a subject to be tolerated; every instance of mention of religion is to be an instance of nothing more than saying, "we are to be tolerant of all beliefs" (which is time and again, the cudgel used to tell Christians to shut up); our "high level of tolerance" is above all religion and of higher value than all religion; religion is naturally and inherently divisive if it is allowed to become anything more efficacious than "a subject to be tolerated", that is to say, if we let it be religious; religion is the great bully of poor marginalized atheists; don't be religious or you will be accused of being divisive; the evidence of our wonderful high level of tolerance (which is a lie) is seen only via atheists, who, poor marginalized them, feel comfortable saying they do not believe in a God; people who proclaim their belief in God with boldness and conviction, or in fact in any way whatsoever, inherently marginalize and hurt others who "may not share the same beliefs"; believing in God and acting as though one believes in God is not to be tolerated; we hereby disown, while still riding the crest of goods it has given us and which we take for granted, our ancestral belief in One Holy Transcendent Personal God; we will react to any definite, convincing statements of belief in God, within school, politics, or public places, the same way an insane maniac in a padded cell reacts to any concrete contact with that which resides outside of himself and which is for the betterment of his health.

What is most apparent about this retarded, impotent, bloodless, wimpy, self-strangulated video is how utterly unwatchable it is, and how utterly it has no real message whatsoever. Gee, did you notice the absolutely unconvincing, dotard and senile repetition of certain words? Never. Never. Never. Never. Never. All spoken in voices of such undistinguished, neutered, pallid tenor, that you truly wonder how such character as this ever got to be the catalyst for "diversity".
The first group that takes the lead in hate-speech and loathing against the homosexual community (that is, the one that promotes homosexual acts such as anal penetration either through genital intercourse, fisting, or foreign objects, or any other unchaste, disordered, filthy and inherently cruel acts, or even those acts which may be apparently not cruel but which are still immoral, such as oral sex) is the active homosexual community itself. They are filled to brimming with self-loathing; loathing against one another. They hate religion that has moral statements and stances on homosexuality. They hate those who respect them and who teach chastity. They hate those who have 'converted' and live a married life (real marriage that is). Do they hate those who are single and 'gay' but choose to live chaste lives while encouraging others to do so? Don't know about that one.
